Martha Elizabeth Moxley, born August 16th 1960 in San Francisco, Calafornia.
Daughter of David (decessed) & Dorthy Moxley.
Sister of John Moxley.
Moved to Greenwich !973.
Martha is best known as the victim of a long-unsolved murder from 1975.
After a night of pre-halloween revelry in October 1975, 15year old Martha Moxley was bludgeoned and
stabbed to death with a 6-iron golf club in the exclusive Belle Haven section of Greenwich,
Connecticut. Suspects included a family tutor and two neighbourhood teens, Thomas and Michael
Skakel. (one point which made this case a sensation was that the Skakels were nephews of the late
Robert F Kennedy and his widow, Ethel Skakel Kennedy).
In 1993 author, Dominik Dunne wrote a best-selling novel, A Season In Purgatory, based on the
incident. Dunne later encouraged former Los Angeles Policeman Mark Fuhrman - (from the O J Simpson
murder trial) to investigate the Martha Moxley murder. Fuhrman's 1998 book A Murder In Greenwich
declared Michael Skakel to be the prime suspect, (Michael was never a suspect in the 1970's when the
murder happened).
In May 2002 Skakel's trial began, and on 7th June 2002, the jury found him guilty of Martha Moxley's
death. In August 2002 he was given a sentence of 20 years to life in Prison.
It is believed he murdered Martha out of jealousy of her and his older brother Tommy (Thomas
Skakel).
Since serving his sentence, Skakel has tried to appeal and has fortunately had no luck.
Martha is now in Heaven with her father David Moxley who had a massive heart attack in 1988.

RIP young angel Martha and help your mum to cope with this tragedy. Remeber me to my son mohammad who left me in June last year when he was 23 after recntly having passed his military services and we had many plans for his future but all withered with his sudden departure. Peace be on you both.

i went back to main page of gts site i had been on my daughters site(krystal hart) and somethink was drawing me to martha i clicked on & read her story it was so kind of you to set a site up for martha my own daughter krystal was murdered last year on good friday by our mental neighbours lover thomas hughes just to impress hes sick lover our krystal was carring her first child so not only was my daughter murdered he also murdered my first grandchild for what jealousey of a young woman i have one other daughter stella krystals older sister i hope all these angels have special places in heaven xx god bless them all
